I'm Valarie Nichols and A Wink and A Smile Photography is my business.
    As far back as I can remember I have played with cameras. My Great-Grandmother had a Polaroid and I played with it every time I could. I would cut up Sunday ads and put them in the film cassette, walk around "taking photos" of my family and pulling out the ads and giving them their "picture".  I kept myself occupied for hours. Now I'm a graduate of Lyon College, with a B.A. in Studio Art. After graduating I wanted nothing more than to open a studio front, but found that I didn't have the ability to do so. I went to work for Burge Photography in Sherwood. Mr. Burge became a mentor and taught me a lot about the business world of photography. I sadly had to leave Burge in 2007 and am now employed as an aerial photographer for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.
I have finally been able to start my own business. I have many years of photography experience on my own dating as far back to high school and college yearbook photography. I am also a freelance photographer for Burge Photography, Focus Photography by Larry Odom, Joel Schmidt Photography and Photography by Melisa.
    I enjoy capturing emotions and life, all the winks and the smiles. I have a small home studio in Benton, AR but prefer location photography. I will travel anywhere you want. I shoot weddings, families, seniors, and babies. I enjoy shooting events as well, from small intimate birthday parties to class reunions. I use canon digital and film(on request) equipment. I am a member of APPA and PPA.
